Tik Ka
Tik Ka is a Hong Kong-born artist currently based in the United Kingdom. His primary creative platform is painting. He was born in Hong Kong during its period as a British colony and grew up in a culturally diverse environment. He began his artistic career in 2006 and has held solo and group exhibitions in various cities, including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Paris, New York, London, and Milan. In 2016, he created the series “Tik Ka From East,” reinterpreting Western and Eastern culture (such as films, anime, and internet culture) through an Eastern aesthetic. His works incorporate a wide range of elements, including traditional Chinese New Year paintings, ink painting, ceramics, and calligraphy. Over time, his art has often blended the characteristics of both Eastern and Western cultures, eventually evolving into a unique pop art style. His creation is inspired by the shapes of clouds.
Throughout his works, he humorously merges Eastern and Western cultures and has ultimately reached a state of enlightenment that returns to a simpler foundation: “trying to distill purity from chaos, embracing his own interpretations, and exploring themes such as parting and the fleeting nature of existence.”
He has collaborated with various internationally renowned brands and art organizations, extending his work beyond painting into different media, forms, and platforms.
