Dr. Irene Lok is a renowned scholar, award-winning artist, and writer, currently dwelling in the scholarly ambiance of Cambridge, England. Her art, celebrated for its evocative beauty, adorns private collections worldwide, especially in Europe and Asia. Irene’s work is a dialogue between nature and the living world where each painting becomes a luminous celebration of life, love, beauty, and spontaneity. Through her artistry, she seeks to capture the profound energy that unites all living beings, transforming her canvases into meditations on existence and the organic harmony of the universe.
Her lifelong passion for art took root in childhood, leading to a BA (Hons) in Art and Design from the University of Kent, followed by a Ph.D. in Buddhist Studies at the University of Hong Kong. Now a Fellow at the University of Cambridge, Irene’s journey through academia and creativity is as rich as her artistic legacy. Beginning her career as an Art Director and writer at Ogilvy, she later turned to teaching at prestigious universities and serving as an art advisor at Jao Tsung-I Petite Ecole. Her work, whether through brushstrokes or words, embodies a seamless union of scholarly depth and artistic expression, inviting those who encounter it to reflect on the quiet yet profound beauty of the natural world and the inner landscapes of the mind.
